Ahead of the March 19th Fort Atkinson City Council Candidate Forum and the April 7th Spring General Election, Fort Atkinson Independent Reporter asked the four qualifying council candidates for their backgrounds, their views and positions on what they perceive as key local governance issues, and how they propose to address those issues if elected.

A Fort Atkinson City Council Candidate Forum will be held on Thursday, March 19th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Fort Atkinson Dwight Foster Public Library, FCCU Community Room.

Today marked a momentous event for Fort Atkinson with groundbreaking for the city’s first housing development in 25 years.

The Fort Atkinson city government has published its planning schedule for the 2026 annual Operating Budget. Also included in this activity is development of the city’s Capital Improvements Budget for the six-year period from 2026 through 2031. These city budgeting processes occur every year.
